The year is 2024. the beginning of a decade that has given a completely new aiming to “interior styling strategies”

If my notes are correct (*glances at checklist*), the house is now an area where daytime sweatpants and nighttime sweatpants are a thing (I bid thee adieu, jeans), where tie-dye and TikTok are insatiable trends that coexist in viral harmony, and that I would be remiss to forget that house is also an area where the limit doesn’t exist for video conferencing (we know and that we pity you).

As the choice to go virtual for meetings, happy hours, and hallmark life events has become an unspoken mandate, our homes became the MTV Cribs feature we never saw coming. rather than living in dread or choosing that trending virtual background, let’s take a walk and talk through a couple of strategies for elevating your space to A level of joy and vibrancy which will have you ever able to (willingly) showcase how you’re living (…and all folks able to CTRL-Save your room with a view).

Style Strategy #1: Embrace the posh You’re Working With

While Cribs is understood for showcasing envy-inducing views into lavish celebrity homes, the fashionable interior styling Strategies definitions for high-end land are a-changing and I’m not mad about it. for instance, whenever a “penthouse” was previously mentioned, my baller-on-a-Home-Goods-budget personality automatically thought Unattainable. Well, not anymore! Because of a marketing refresh, a penthouse is often defined as any unit with a special layout from others within the building, ample outdoor space, or premium views; and it’s not necessarily on the highest floor!

So thereupon in mind, I’m here to inform you we each have the space to cultivate an elevated and vibrant home experience, no matter the dimensions, location, or circumstance. Is your pinky up? Because it should be.

Style Strategy #2: See Yourself in Your Space

Minimalist? Maximalist? I-like-what-I-like-ist? you’ve got the permission to make a view that resonates with every fiber of your being. I promise, as you begin to ascertain yourself in your space it begins to rework into a cheerful place. In my home, this vision translates into an amuse-bouche of color, pattern, and plants (yes, all of them are my children) like past tropical getaways

surprisingly, showcasing my authentic self through my home decor came with a good share of trial and error. I even have always admired those social media-worthy dwellings with modern, monochromatic, and minimalist design styling. With my Pinterest board locked and loaded, I used to be able to copy and paste this trend in my condo.

In a full-fledged psychological state, I went as far as purchasing a neutral area rug and classic wood bed frame! Lo and behold, though I remember thinking they were beautiful styling Strategies pieces upon arrival, I felt like something was…missing. Ironically, the bed frame was delivered damaged, so I took that as my sign from Jesus to abandon the inauthentic and reunite with what truly represents me.

What does this mean for you? Whether it’s through incorporating your favorite color, an heirloom piece, or a vintage find that creates your heart sing, integrate that into your space without apology. Did I mention I’m already loving what you’ve through with the place? Authenticity looks so amazing on you.

Style Strategy #3: Interior Styling Strategies Start with a focus

The room wasn’t inbuilt each day (…or during a worldwide pandemic), so give yourself grace on this design journey and know that it’s okay to start slow. In fact, I think taking some time allows the breathing space to best curate your personal style while lessening the danger of design regret (…like the time I painted my entryway Halloween orange).

As I decorated my space, while adding vibrant colors topped my list, I used to be cognizant that there must be some method to the madness. In taking some time, I started by buying a “signature” piece of furniture and a neighborhood rug that might function as a continuing source of inspiration. I really like using area rugs as a fun thanks to ground my personal style and make a cohesive flow!

However, if area rugs aren’t your cup of tea, a bit of artwork, accessories, or paint/wallpaper also can accomplish an equivalent result. Once you’ve got decided upon your focal piece, pulling colors or unique elements from that piece of decor will have you ever volunteering to share your joyous curation with friends and family!

Style Strategy #4: Bring the Outside In

With the good indoors being our new travel destination of choice, I fully support adding some green. In my humble proud plant parent opinion, plants are such an exquisite thanks to adding texture, vibrancy, and interest. And please note, you are doing not need 80 of them to accomplish this! Placing even one plant during a corner that would use some love, on a kitchen counter, or as a warm entryway, the welcome is my favorite thanks to breathing new life into any space. As another benefit, plant pots are another simple thanks to adding personal flair! Joy truly is often found within the little details.

Well, I do believe we’ve seen enough for one day! It’s about time on behalf of me to refill my glass and send you on your way—you have a penthouse to embellish
