There is often a conflict while doing an Interior design, a conflict of ideas, a conflict of personalities, a conflict of generation even. What a wife has envisioned may be very different from an husband’ idea of requirements and they both may be very different from how a designer perceives the space! Initially the flux is great as one picks up a pen and a paper, to speak traditionally. Spaces, wardrobes, lines then give way to confusion in choice of colours! Myriad of those and each one equally appealing. By the time one finalises from amongst all the options, one thing that stealthily keeps creeping up is the cost. All of a sudden it stares in one’ face and then one starts all over again.
So what does one do? Can we not have a good design without the opulence?
Of course one can. As a famous interior designer once said, “The sense of wanting to linger just a little longer when you enter a room is a good design.”, we say, allow minimalism to win! Minimalism will make you and your guests just a tad bit longer. Minimalism is a good show off.
